Term 1 in the Woodwork Room

The Woodwork Room has been a buzz of activity this term. As autumn arrives for us all, so does the children’s striving to ‘finish’ their projects.

The wonderful Class 7s have worked their way through the complexities of crafting a box: carving, dovetail joins, gluing, hinges, latches, oiling, etc. I’m always amazed at their artistic ideas and willingness to overcome the challenges that appear before them. They are a harmonious and loud group, who demand to be heard as they craft with clear intentions and quality at heart.

The groovy Year 10s are creating fantastic tables and chairs this semester. Many beautiful designs have emerged and remarkably, many kids are close to finishing already!
They’re like bulls at a gate this group, full of energy, with great presence, and a determination to power on, even if there is delicate china all around them!
