Term 2 Welcome

It is a joy to return to school and be amongst our young people, so vibrant and full of life. The holidays marked a real transition from warmer days to truly autumnal weather. Trees are now showing their beautiful palette of russet colours, the morning mists are rolling in and the nights are gaining a clarity and crispness. In alignment with the season, you can already feel a sense that the students are settling into themselves and are ready to apply their inner will to their learning.

We are in for an exciting term. New students who began at the start of the year in early childhood, Class 1, Class 7 and across the school have had time to settle in and are now familiar with our rhythms and routines. New main lessons have begun, new songs are being learned and new games being played. Years 9 and 10 are off on camps this term. We have three Year 10 students out on exchange, one to Japan and two to France. A student from France is spending this term in Year 10. The incredible sound of our brand new concert piano was beautifully brought to life by Ben in Year 12, who played for the whole high school at the Tuesday assembly. Towards the very end of term, Class 6 will be bringing us the light at mid-winter. There is much to look forward to.

In staffing news, we welcome Lisa Tolley, our new maths teacher. Lisa brings a wealth of experience and will be joining us in the third week of term. Welcome back to Josie, Ant and Cathy Lebrun, who have been away on long service leave. Our Eurythmy teachers Beth and Sue are on leave this term but we are very fortunate to have Kate to fill their places.

We look forward to seeing you at various school events throughout the term.
