Easter and Autumn
In this season of golden autumnal light each day can be a celebration of living in a most loveable world. As we walk in Nature and we can experience how the Sun illuminates everything — the plants and animals, the flowing rivers, the great tidal bodies of water and the solid body of the Earth. It is there for everyone, for every part of our world.
This great star that is at the centre of our cosmos has such beneficence that it inspires our soul, enlivens our thoughts, and nourishes our morality. If we do happen to move into negative thoughts and feelings, then immersion in sunlight lifts our spirit and helps us to find our best nature again.
The nature of the human soul is akin to the Sun, naturally, for we exist in the benevolence of our star. We have the capacity to share the warmth of love, and the light of good intelligence, and the stimulation of creative endeavour. As we recognise our spiritual inheritance we find that we are living our most joyful life.
In our Southern Hemisphere, Easter is the festival of light in a season of increasing darkness. It really is an encouragement for us to contemplate how our most intrinsic being is a dimension that exists beyond physical life and death; it is consciousness overcoming dissolution and finding itself in its eternal nature.
Through Easter we are reminded that there is no limit to love; every person has access to unlimited love which we can give to all of Creation.
