Class 6 Sailing Camp
Like Odysseus in Homer’s Ancient Greek myth, we too embarked on a wonderful sea adventure when we set sail from Balnarring a couple of weeks ago. With blue skies above and clear waters below, Tom and Oska our sailing instructors gave the children a good briefing on the lasers we were sailing, then the children were on the water in no time tacking and jibing their way around two buoys at Balnarring. By the third day we sailed around the point to Merricks where we were met by the parent helpers for morning tea, then around to Point Leo where they met us with our lunch and then we sailed back. The children loved the freedom and independence in the boats, particularly when the dolphins visited.
A big thank you to Daniel and Jess the Outdoor Ed teachers who regaled us with stories at night, played a fun game of lantern stalk and organised this wonderful adventure for us, and Adrienne, Mick and Judy for the delicious meals.
