The Dining Room
The Dining Room is the heart of our school, and its relaxed atmosphere draws everyone into its warm embrace. Staff and students congregate here throughout the day to share good food and conversation.
Morning tea and lunch are prepared fresh each day by Connie, our professional chef, and her wonderful staff and student helpers. The Dining Room serves simple, healthy, home-style meals using the highest quality, locally sourced biodynamic and organic ingredients. The weekly menu offers plenty of reasonably priced options for a variety of dietary requirements, adjusted each term to take advantage of the best seasonally available produce.
From Class 3 to Class 6, Primary students have limited access to the Dining Room determined by their Class Teacher. All Secondary students can access the Dining Room for morning tea and lunch if they choose to.
Student Work Program
Each term, students from Class 8 and Year 9 are rostered in groups to work in the Dining Room. They work from set-up in the morning to pack-down in the afternoon.
Under the loving guidance of Connie, students help with food prep, cooking, serving, taking payments, and cleaning and packing away. It is a full and busy day for our students, who learn practical skills and thoroughly enjoy the experience.
